ORGANIZING COMMITTEE
MARGARITA OSTROWSKI DE NÚÑEZ
HONORARY PRESIDENT
Dr. Ostrowski de Núñez has been a member of the Argentine Parasitological Association since its origins. She devoted most of her research work to studying the biology and taxonomy of digenae. Through more than 100 publications, she has described hundreds of larval stages and elucidated the life cycles of nearly thirty species of fish, reptile, bird and mammal trematodes in freshwater environments. She was a Principal Investigator at CONICET, professor of Helminthology at the University of Buenos Aires, and gave numerous courses on trematode biology at universities in Argentina, Germany, Mexico, and Uruguay.
Dr. Ostrowski de Núñez has made an outstanding contribution to the knowledge of the larval stages and life cycles of digenates from freshwater environments in the Neotropical Region.

COORDINATION SECTION
Degree in Biological Sciences. Professor of Microbiology and Parasitology of the Nursing career at National University of Salta in Tartagal Regional Headquarters. Director and Member of CIUNSa. Research projects on Human Parasitology and Helminth parasites of aquatic fauna.
Member of the Institute for the Study of Invertebrate Biodiversity (IEBI), Faculty of Natural Sciences, UNSa.
FLORENCIA LIQUIN
FINANCE SECTION
Degree in Biological Sciences. CONICET doctoral fellow. She is currently working in the Parasitology laboratory, belonging to the Institute for the Study of Invertebrate Biodiversity (IEBI) in the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the National University of Salta. My work topic is the study of parasites in freshwater molluscs, specifically those of the genus Corbicula, an invasive species commonly known as "Asian clam".
In the development of my research I sought to determine the parasites that infect these clams in a natural and / or experimental way; the variables that could influence the infection and their effects on a morphological, histological and physiological level.
